Application Publication on Google Play

a long road to Product Release

It takes a long way! There are, say, 7 steps as shown belows. I have started the 1st step in August 17, 2024. My application has published on the Google play on December 24, 2024. This is a record of my application process, I hope which help somebody going on the same pass :)

My App: EyeUP Daily

  1. User Registration with ID check 2024/08/17-2024/09/15
  2. Create Application Bundle 2024/09/16
  3. Internal Test: 2024/09/16-2024/11/13
  4. Closed Test: 20 users for 14 days. 2024/11/13-2024/12/12
  5. Questionaire x2 2024/12/13-2024/12/23
  6. Product Release! 2024/12/24

There are a couple of questionares from google during the whole process. It seems they are important. You have to be clear why your app is good for release on the platform. Many applications are rejected in each screening step.

Some people say that it is important to fulfill thier questions in a full length, which is 300 words. You must answer long enough. Length is not important from my experience. The shorter, the better if your answer is clear.

I will share my answers to questionares from google. It seems that there are many rejections according to the reddit group. I hope it help those app developers. Please enjoy!

  1. User Registration with ID check: 2024/08/17
  2. It was August 17 when 25USD was paid and I applied for user registration. My ID card (i.e. passport) was rejected three times.
  3. Create AAB, Android Application Bundle
  4. Then I knew that we need an aab for app distribution on google play. It was not that hard if you googled.
  5. Started the testing of vision2: 2024/10/28
  6. Note: vision2, visionD and EyeUP are all the same; Name is only difference.
  7. Started the testing of VisionD: 2024/10/29
  8. Started to use google play dashboard. This is the first time to use it and did not know how it works, so it was a try and error.
  9. Internal Test of EyeUP: 2024/11/13
  10. This is a test of the real aab for release. I don't rellay know the difference between internal test and closed test; especially which is mandatory and which is not. Anyway I have just followed the Dashboard of the google play console. Then it was the first test. It was finished somehow.
  11. Closed Test: 20 users for 14 days.: 1.03, 2024/11/18
  12. This is the unbelievable part. You have to find 20 test users who are required to test your app for 14 days. I thought that it must not be true when I read this first time. But it was real that YOU HAVE TO FIND 20 TEST USERS FOR 14 DAYS. I don't know how strict it was; Probably my test was completed shorter than 20 users for 14 consecutive days.

After the count down was finished on the dashboard, my app was allowed to apply for production release. I made my application immediately.

    Some seems rejected here.

  13. My own google-group created on 2024/12/04.
  14. it was not used very well. Instead these two Reddit testing groups were utilized.
  15. Production Access approved. 2024/12/10
  16. If I remember it was a couple of days before that it was approved before such email was received. Email was received on 12/12. Immediately apply for production: it has a questionaire about your closed test. Survey1
  17. Questionaire2: "Information needed regarding your app submission to Google play" 1.04, 2024/12/13
  18. A questionaire was three days later received, which was just quickly filled. The production release was approved 7 days after my application for the production release, luckily. Questionaire

I knew that this questionare was important since there are posts that some applications were rejected at this point.

  19. Product Release Application: 2024/12/19.
  20. Product reaease was approved. Release version 1.05 is up.
  21. Product Release 1.05: 2024/12/24.

Hope it helps somebody who is going under the same process :) Good luck! Have a nice day!
